Stress induced baking

So, my school has decided that in order for us to get our 3 day Thanksgiving break, we must first survive through 2 major tests on Monday and Tuesday (virology test and a midterm, yay!). Stress makes me want to bake, but then again, I don't have the time. So I used a box mix.

Long story short, try the Cheesecake lemon bar recipe on the back of this box:

It's pretty much just the same directions for the lemon bars (add eggs and water) plus cream cheese, sugar and an egg. Nom Nom nom... super easy and just hits the spot for a tart, sweet treat.

Ooh... pretty...

I am currently oogling at these shoes over at Gojane.com. Super cheap (all under $30) and rather adorable. I've never ordered anything from this site, so I can't say anything about the quality or comfort, but umm for these prices, I think I'm willing to take a gamble. And buy a few more pairs of Dr. Scholl's inserts just to be on the safe side.

My fav.

Because I don't own rainboots, and now I see that I desperately need some after the WTF-was-that?!/epic flooding this weekend.

Because I can always use another pair of cute black flats.

And peeptoe platforms, you know, so I don't wear my beautiful Kate Spade ones to death.

Who doesn't love embellished flats for under $20?

Vanity Love.

I am desperately wanting a vanity for our bedroom - we have a little spot in the bedroom that would be just perfect for one. I'm thinking of getting a basic white desk with a drawer or two and jazzing it up with crystal knobs and an adorable mirror, since I'm really not in the position to be splurging on a sweet vanity. One day, I will have a mirrored vanity, old school glamour style. I'm loving this one. One day, sigh...

Back to Blonde.

Like, platinum blonde. I've always been a blonde, but about a month ago I decided to try being a slightly darker blonde because it would look more natural. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I decided to keep it that way for a while to see if it would grow on me. Needless to say, it didn't. I kept looking at pictures of myself thinking... ugh I look so blah! Soo, I am back to having blonde blonde hair. See the angelic pictures below as a reference (yes, they are both from different halloweens).

This is how I looked this halloween with darker blonde hair. (This was earlier on Halloween, at school, handing out candy to kids. Hence the lack of a Sandy costume)

This was actually several Halloweens ago, but I used the exact same hair dye that I was using then. So, my hair looks like this now. It feels good to be back.

And I will leave you with this song from this week's Glee. I've never seen Wicked, but I definitely want to after hearing this awesome remake.

Designing help!

Does anyone out there have a good eye for design? I need your help, or at least advice.

AK and I have THE MOST HORRENDOUS time trying to decorate the house. His style is more old school, antique-y, lots of pictures of ships/boats, looks like a smoking lounge, etc... I like things a little more fresh, colorful and young (hell, we're young people!) while still being classic. We cannot agree on rugs (he LOVES oriental rugs, I hate them), paintings (see again - he loves pictures of boats and ships, I am sick to death of pictures of boats and ships), or hell, even paint colors.

So, right now we are trying to do the dining room. I picked out the dining room table and its pretty formal-looking with a lot of detail (not what I usually go for, but I love it). Below are some pictures of the table in the store before we bought it (we have the sideboard too).

Now, we're trying to decide on pictures for the room. We have FINALLY found some that we both like, but they aren't very "formal" feeling. Actually, they are more vintage prints. The question is, do ya'll think that these would work in a dining room with more "formal" furniture? Also, any tips for how to decorate a home when the two people living in it have completely opposite tastes?

Halloween, finally.

The first picture is not my favorite, but you can see the costumes as I was putting them together. Ignore the crazy thing my hair is doing and AK's "I'm sick of taking pictures" look.

I also had some hot, hot red heels on that really made the outfit.

Well, I'm off to bed - another quiz tomorrow, yay! (That is if we don't get flooded out). Lilly's getting spayed tomorrow, and I'm so worried about her (just because I'm super overprotective of my little baby pup). Pray she does well!

Medical School has taken over my life.

I'll be back to posting on Monday or Tuesday, after my pathology test. Ugh. And I'll finally post those halloween pictures (the few that I actually took) - AK's jacket turned out absolutely amazing. So for the meantime, say a little prayer that I make it to Monday afternoon without losing it.
